Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHV)

Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHV) were created by Congress in 2021 with a one-time funding allocation. They target households who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, fleeing or attempting to flee domestic violence, or recently homeless and at high risk of housing instability.

How to apply

EHVs are typically distributed through the local Continuum of Care — the regional homelessness coordination body — not through direct application to the PHA. Contact your local CoC or homelessness services organization. Some PHAs have already issued all of their EHV allocation.
